Poiema
Tim Jenkins
Music that uses jazz harmony,a subtle folky melodic sense and wonderful interplay and improvisation to complement first-rate composition.
"Poiema" is my sixth record. This one is primarily music that was written for five musicians. The instrumentation for the most part is a guitar trio with either tenor/alto, trumpet/alto or clarinet and alto.

"Poiema" is my sixth record. This one is primarily music that was written for five musicians. The instrumentation for the most part is a guitar trio with either tenor/alto, trumpet/alto or clarinet and alto. There is also a duet for clarinet and acoustic guitar("Someone is gone and isn't around anymore). I think the playing on the album is very musical and the improv to my ear often sounds like a mini-composition within a larger one. This is an effect i had hoped for and one that was discussed as an ideal before recording this music. I try to write music that is beautiful and hope that whoever stumbles on it will think that it is.
